Job Description:
* Providing Level 2 support both to the users and for technical incidents for Global Finance Applications Consolidation Systems being:
• IBM Cognos ePlanning package Developer (Contributor and Analyst modules)
• IBM TM1 application developer
* Championing a robust offshore GFA support function which for this role includes:
* Establishing close working relationships with the GFA on-shore team
* Establishing a high level of trust amongst the user teams in the off-shore support capability
• Administering the GFA Systems which for this role particularly includes:
• SOX and Audit testing
• Testing co-ordination in support of regular change cycles
• Mentoring and developing the skills of Level 1 support executives in the GFA Support team
• Taking ownership of continual process improvement for the GFA support function and recommending further improvement to the Operational Risk Management of Finance Systems
* Establishing and building user confidence in robust production environments and excellence of GFO support function
* Evidencing a proactive approach – it is fundamental for this role that all stakeholders are kept informed of the progress of issues raised towards resolution.
* Taking personal responsibility for developing cross application knowledge/skills and experience, as guided by management and leveraging the skill base of the Application SME’s who deliver the Level 2 support function in the 24 * 7 model Focusing on the delivery of an excellent support function and surpassing user expectations
* This role fits as part of a 24 * 7 level 2 capability across GFA systems, which for 2010 include:
• Cognos ePlanning (principally Contributor) and TM1 development experience
• The extended functionality provided by the Query Management tool (initial user base = Group Accounting Policy) The incumbent will need to:
• build strong effective relationships with colleagues and with the wider user community – establishing GFO support as an added value issue resolution Centre of Excellence
• as recipients of issues from either users or Level 1 colleagues (potentially identified during the update of the GFA Finance Systems Performance dashboard), this role will be responsible for the:
o acceptance and analysis of those issues
o documentation of actions and fixes where possible
o escalation of any live issues to UK Application Maintenance management/IT Incident Management
o project management of the resolution of issues with IT Incident Management and via them to the relevant vendor
o documentation of issue resolution and o professional communication with relevant users, issue originators and/or user community more widely of the progress of issue resolution with relevant timescales, potential workarounds, limitations on current usage
• professionally handle queries and issues from global users, understand and interpret information and route issues to relevant colleagues
• proactively identify issues and escalate with relevant teams (Business, IT etc) understand, track and exceed customer expectations on an ongoing basis
• Attention to detail in delivering application fixes and issue resolution with appropriate review steps. Any step done incorrectly / missed can lead to major consequences (both technical and in terms of destruction of trust in the robustness of the function).
• Managing the support function in accordance with the group controls framework and with relevant FIM’s (Finance Instruction manual). Enhancing procedures in comply with applicable SOX requirements for systems that are in scope for SOX controls
• Strong commitment to consistent procedures in handling of user issues is required to build a recognized centre of excellence
• Compliance with operating procedures particularly around categorization of current issues, appropriate escalation and timely resolution (rather than response)
• Compliance with Incident Management process and documentation in line with IT best practice
